ARTHUR E. SATHERLEY

 

Recognition for Uncle Art Satherley with the unveiling of a Blue Plaque to commemorate this pioneer of music. Arthur E. Satherley was born at 2 Anchor Cottages, Bartley Street, Bedminster, Bristol, (or as it was then, Somerset) England, on the 19th of October 1889 to Alice and Levi Satherley.

The cottages are no longer there, industrial units taking their place.

The plaque is situated on the corner of Bartley Street and Philip Street on the building formally known as Brightbow Lodge now Claro Homes

The Lord Mayor of Bristol unveiled the plaque in a ceremony on the 25th of January 2011.
